In 2009 Rick, Wendy and their intrepid friend Carolyn visited the diverse country of Namibia, a former German colony, which with the discovery of diamonds after independence, has become a successful democracy in Africa–one of few. The highlight for Wendy was spending four days with the !San! Bushmen in the Kalahari. It was a living anthropology lesson. The red dunes of Sousouvlei were also particularly memorable.
