For those who are seeking meaningful, last-minute holiday gifts, please consider giving From Silicon Valley to Swaziland to friends, family, and Boomers you know. It is available through Amazon and any online book retailer, or at Books Inc. Mountain View and Palo Alto AND then please review it.
From Silicon Valley to Swaziland is educational (AND we’ve been told, entertaining), covering: travel in Africa, Boomers working and living in developing countries, and how to approach a “next chapter” in life about living and working in Africa. Our book’s key messages are to show readers that ordinary people can enter encore careers that move them beyond their comfort zone to positively impact people in need while also attaining personal satisfaction. Also we want to inspire readers to determine how to use their skills, experiences, and knowledge to socially benefit the world around them. So please share our book with people who have the potential to improve their community and/or world–who just need a little nudge.
Recently Tisch College of Citizenship & Public Service at Tufts University featured us in their digital newsletter and on the Tisch College website and Tufts Alumni Magazine gave our book a nice review in their Fall 2015 publication. On December 30, 2015 we present our book to our first Kiwanis Club meeting and so far in 2016 we have scheduled talks at Mountain View and Sunnyvale Public Libraries; Rotary Clubs in Los Altos, Campbell, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale; and Book Passage in Corte Madera. Let us know if your book club or organization might host us!
