The final major stop at the Sossusvlei area of the Namib-Naukluft Desert was as memorable as their time with the Bushmen, but  in a very different way.  The pictures don’t do justice to the sand’s dramatic colors, changing almost moment to moment from sunrise to sunset.  The dunes can be 1,000 feet high though the illusion is that they are much smaller—but after they climbed a couple, Rick, Wendy and Carolyn could testify to the dunes’ height.  The Namib-Naukluft Desert feels like being inside one of Georgia O’Keefe’s magical, spiritual, desert paintings…
