Eastern Europe

Starting in May 2017 the Walleighs visited multiple cities and countries in our tour of Eastern Europe. Prague, Czech Republic was our 1st stop; then briefly Vienna, Austria; and Budapest, Hungary. We then drove to meet another couple to travel in Slovenia–Ljubljana, the Julian Alps, and Lake Bled. From there all 4 of us tour all over Croatia: Zagreb (overnight); Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle;  Rovinj on the Istrian Peninsula; over to Plitvice National Park for most of a day; then Split, our 1st city on the Dalmatian Coast; ferry over to Hvar Island and surrounding Pakleni Islands; ferry to the gleaming limestone city of Dubrovnik; and a day trip each to the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro and to Mostar in Bosnia-Herzegovina.  It was 3 packed weeks of amazing cultures, scenery and history. I would recommend Eastern Europe and the former Yugoslavia to anyone interested in the complexities of former Eastern Bloc countries.
